In looking at puzzles and mystery word games I was bound to come across the SATOR ROTAS puzzle. Simply put, it is composed of five words, each of which is a palindrome, and connect together as a four way turning palindrome. It mysteriously showed up on various ancient Roman sites from 79 CE to around 1400 CE. I should note, of course, that this was not originally a jigsaw puzzle.
